HE'S taken on a Himalayan trek, the National Three Peaks 24-hour challenge, the London Revolution cycle challenge, to name just a few, and now dare devil Keith Hunt is taking on another challenge.

The Old Cleeve resident said he enjoys doing challenges, all in the name of charity, and this Sunday (October 5), he will be taking part in the first London 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.

It will see him run up three of London's tallest buildings, complete a 5k run between the locations, and abseil down the third tower.

And it's quite a feat for 55-year-old Keith as he's scared of heights.

He said: “I am getting quite nervous as it's creeping up on me now and I haven't done as much practise as I'd like to have done as I haven't had the time.

“I think it is quite different to climbing up hills because we don't have massive buildings here like in London, I will definitely do it but I think it will take some coaxing.”

Keith, who has raised over £6,000 for various charities over the years, said he finds the challenges addictive and is already looking ahead to next year.

He started challenging himself after recovering from a serious case of pneumonia.

“When I got home even walking down the garden was a struggle for me but each day I managed to walk a little bit further and then up on the hills,” he said. “

My doctor told me to keep doing what I was doing as it was helping me.

“I've signed up for a cycling challenge in Wales next year.

“I was supposed to be taking a break and just completing the South West Coastal Path which I've half finished but I saw this one and signed up.”
