EXMOOR Rural Community Watch on horseback joined in on a training day with other search and rescue teams.
THE Exmoor Rural Community Watch, a group of volunteers who patrol the area on horseback, took part in a joint training day with Exmoor Search & Rescue, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue, and police officers from the Exmoor Beat Team last week.
The Watch was set up in 2012 by Avon and Somerset Police.
Sgt Andy Whysall said: “It’s great to know we can call the volunteers out to assist in searching for missing people.
“They can cover ground so much quicker and have the advantage of an elevated view from horseback.”
