PRE-SCHOOL children at Acorns Nursery in Minehead said “aaaaah” when the dentist visited.

Joe Norris and colleague Zoe Neal, of the Blenheim Road Practice, taught the youngsters how to care for their teeth.

The children brushed up their skills with a large toothbrush and a set of model teeth, and found out how long it takes to get their teeth squeaky clean with the help of an egg-timer.

“Public Health England research has found that on average 12% of threeyear- olds have evidence of tooth decay,” said nursery manager Julie Lindley.

“We do all we can to make sure our children learn all they can about how to keep their teeth clean.

“The children talked about healthy food and food which is bad for their teeth, and had some activity booklets and a leaflet to take home to their parents.”
