PEOPLE of West Somerset are being invited to take part in ‘Project Blueprint’ – a community consultation programme led by the Real Ideas Organisation.

The group looks to engage local people in designing a set of blueprints, one for Bridgwater and one for West Somerset, to identify ways in which they can harness some of the potential of large scale developments for community benefit.

RIO is looking for people of all ages and backgrounds to engage with the process taking place throughout March and into April.

Project leader for RIO, Jonathan Clitheroe, said: “We are so excited to be working on Project Blueprint, with big investment comes huge opportunity and Project Blueprint will make sure that the right people — local people — are those that benefit.

“More people mean more ideas and input, and a strong voice is essential in turning plans into action, so we urge anybody who is interested to get in touch.”

People getting involved with Project Blueprint will have the opportunity to develop new skills and existing talents, there will be visits to see similar projects in action elsewhere, and offer people a real opportunity to make a lasting and positive impact on their local community.

The Department for Work and Pensions has commissioned RIO to deliver the projects in each of the two areas.

RIO is a successful social enterprise based in the South West but with global impact, which provides positive and lifelong opportunities for young people and communities.
