THE All Saints Church in Dulverton is putting on a special service to commemorate the 70th anniversary of VJ day.
Sunday, August 16, marks 70 years since the victory in Japan and the end of World War II, and the church is holding a Thanksgiving Commemoration Service at 9.30am.
The event will pay tribute to all those who fought in the Armed Forces, including the famous 14th Army in Burma who helped to secure victory. Prisoners of War and conflict internees will also be
recognised.
While the war in Europe ended in early May 1945, British and Commonwealth Armed Forces were still fighting in the Far East.
