THERE'S good news for those who drive on the A39 Williton to Bridgwater - as roadworks taking place there have finished early.
Somerset County Council has been carrying out upgrades along a stretch of the road near St Audries since September 19.
There was a long-running issue with cracking and subsidence, and the road was in poor condition.
New kerbs and a series of new gullies have been built to improve drainage and a layer of geogrid has been added to strengthen the road and minimise the risk of slippage.
This morning, (October 18), Travel Somerset tweeted that the scheme finished on Friday - six days early, and the road is now open.
