FOLLOWING a hugely successful charity bike ride earlier this summer, Taunton Rotary Club is putting its best foot forward and organising a sponsored walk in Taunton.
Supported by the Somerset County Gazette, the walk will mark our 170th birthday and the centenary of the Scout movement.
The event will take place on Sunday, September 30, between 10am and 3pm and is suitable for families of all ages.
This event involves a circular walk of 4.4miles (7km) starting at Vivary Park Gate, passing through Trull and up Cotlake Hill.
Like the bicycle ride, the money can be split 50/50 - with half going to a charity of your choice and the remaining half going to local Scout groups, and prostate and testicular cancers.
Walkers can take part either individually or as part of a team.
Entry forms are available to download from our website www.somer setcountygazette.co.uk Sponsor forms are also there to download along with a map of the route to view.
Further details are available from Jacky Ford, the walk administrator, by calling 01823-277057 or writing to Brindles, 16 Campion Drive, Taun-ton, TA1 3XE.
There is an entry fee of £1 per walker (to cover administration cost) or £3 for a family of up to four - 50p for every child therafter.
Entry forms and money must be sent to Jacky at that address.
