IF your youth club wants to buy a new pool table, your cricket pavilion needs some much needed TLC or your school wants some new games, the Rotary sponsored walk could be right up your street.

The Rotary have organised a sponsored walk in and around Taunton to take place on Sunday, September 30, and much like their charity bike ride in the summer, participants can use it as a great opportunity to make some money for their needs - be it another charity, or something closer to home.

As usual, half of sponsor monies raised will go towards a Rotary charity, which this time is local Scout groups who are celebrating their centenary.

The event is also a way for the Somerset County Gazette to celebrate its own 170th anniversary milestone.

The walk itself begins at Vivary Park Gate and takes place between 10am and 3pm.

Walkers pass through Trull and up Cotlake Hill before returning to Vivary.

It's a beautiful walk, encompassing some wonderful views, and suitable for all the family.

Further details are available from Jacky Ford, the walk administrator, by calling 01823-277057 or writing to Bindles 16 Campion Drive, Taunton TA1 3XE.

There is am entry free of £1 per walker (to cover administration costs) or £3 for a family of up to four - 50p for every child thereafter.

Entry forms and money should be sent to Jacky at the above address.

The entry form is available to download from our website www.somersetcountygazette.co.uk along with sponsor forms and a map of the route.
