TONE Youth reserves twice recovered from a goal down to beat Woolavington 4-3 in the first round of the Seward Cup.

Tone took an early lead through captain Alec Jones only for Woolavington to equalise with a free kick.

It was all Woolavington early in the second half. They took the lead and stayed in control until Tone threw the kitchen sink at them and Martin Hooks levelled the scores with a header.

Tone continued to push for a winner but got caught out and went 3-2 down.

It looked like it was over until Steven Reed turned and smashed one home from edge of the box.

Tone continued to push forward, leaving only three at the back, and were rewarded when Jones broke through. The keeper made a great save but Jones hit home the rebound.

Somerset Junior Cup For the first time in many years league has no clubs progressing to the third round of the competition.

Locomotives were beaten 5-0 by Freshford and Staplegrove reserves chose not to travel to Barton Leverkusen without 11 players.

Rowbarton Charity Cup, First Round Hamilton Athletic Foxes knocked out higher division opponents Wiveliscombe 2-1 with Dave Sweet and Kieran Shelvin scoring. Todd Chappell had given Wivey the early lead which they held for most of the game before Hamilton scored twice late in the game.

Knock Out Cup MILVERTON lost 3-2 to Stogursey but it was a close game. Stogursey took a 3-1 lead but Milverton pulled one back and had it not been for a point-blank save at the end of the game it would have had to go to penalties.

Chase Billett and Callum David scored for Milverton.

Division One Middlezoy Rovers Reserves consolidated their second place in the table with a 2-1 victory over Bishops Lydeard for whom Rob Poole scored.

It was a tight game throughout between Tone Youth and Bridgwater Sports which came to life when a misplaced Tone defensive header put Keir Meaker through to finish.

Tone responded well and a 30 yard wonder strike from Mark Blight was soon to follow.

The second half started evenly again, but Bridgwater’s passing slowly helped them gain momentum which again led to a defensive error with a tidy finish from Matt Fursland.

Tone responded well, gaining and dispatching a penalty kick before having their influential striker sent off for an unfortunate second yellow. The game finished 2v2.

Sampford Blues beat Wyvern Rangers 6-2 with Aaron Braddick hitting a hat trick. Jack Kelly added two and Luke Lawrence scored the sixth.

Chris Hale and Joe Enticott replied for Rangers. Porlock against North Petherton was abandoned due to the lack of an official referee.

Division Two An Andrew Evans cross was converted by Calum Butt with a great header mid-way through the first half to give leaders Westonzoyland the lead against Minehead reserves.

Just after half time Matt Evans volleyed in Harry Millard’s cross and a neat one two between Jack Evett and Jake Gillard, saw Evett convert just before the final whistle to give the home side a 3-0 win. Alcombe Rovers have the same record as Westonzoyland but are one behind on goal difference after their 3-0 win at Wembdon thanks to goals from Dave Sowden, Mike Bailey and Ross Addicott. Danny Mossman scored the only goal of the game to give Watchet a 1-0 victory over Dulverton Town. The Gallery had a 5-2 win over Milverton for whom Craig Plumridge scored both.

Division Three Leaders Sydenham Rangers maintain their 100% record with a convincing 6-2 win over Galmington Dragons for whom Chris Tucker got both goals. Clinton Kneeshaw grabbed himself a hat-trick before half-time for Exmoor Rangers against Redgate who stayed three up at half time. Jimmy Baker scored two in the second half and then Kneeshaw grabbed his fourth late in the game to give Exmoor a 6-0 victory.

Highbridge Reserves took the lead in the first half against Norton Fitzwarren from Mike Green. Super sub Dave Buckingham came on for Norton with 30 minutes to go and scored two goals to earn Norton a 2-1 win.

Division Four LeaderS Creech Cougars made it five wins from five with a 5-1 demolition of Galmington Reserves.

Galmington managed to hang on for 20 minutes but quickly went 2-0 down and it was one-way traffic thereafter.

At the break Creech were winning 3-0 with set pieces proving effective.

In the second half an early goal from Marcus Triggs gave Dragons a glimmer of hope but a lack of shape, spirit and poor technique constantly let them down. Adam Barter scored two for Creech, Ashley Grist, Ali Poole and Michael Burley adding one a piece.

Second-placed Ash Rangers have only played three games but have won them all.

The latest was a 1-0 victory against North Petherton reserves with Callum Hardy scoring.

Staplegrove Colts beat Middlezoy Athletic 5-1 with strikes from both ends of the age spectrum.

Ian Bishop hit a hat trick with youngsters Jake Quick and Kurtis Selway adding one each.

Williton had a 3-0 win at Bridgwater Grasshoppers, completing the season’s double over their opponents.

Veteran striker Matt Werbitzky bagged a first-half hat-trick.

Division Five North Curry fought back from a disastrous opening 30 minutes which saw them trail to Norton Fitzwarren reserves by three goals.

A spirited comeback saw the match finish 4-4 thanks to Curry goals from Matt Bawden, Adam Crichton and a pair from John Pickles.

Lewis Coward scored a hat-trick for Norton and Paul Neville one to give them their first point of the season. Joel Durkin scored the only goal for Bishops Lydeard Colts as they went down 4-1 to Bridgwater Sports Colts.
