TAUNTON Titans will be refreshed and raring to go and will be looking to gain revenge tomorrow when they take on Dorking away (2.30pm).

The last time these two teams met Dorking claimed the crown of the first team to beat Taunton Titans at home for 18 months and well deserved the win in a close run game. Dorking are still sitting in 2nd place even though they have only won 4 of their last nine games, drawing two and losing the other three.

If Taunton want to achieve anything this season they will need to put in a top performance and claim the victory on the road to close the gap on Dorking.

After a week without a league fixture the Taunton Titans took the chance to rest up after their enthralling game against league leaders Henley Hawks.

The atmosphere for this top of the table clash at Hyde Park was excellent with both sets of supporters entertained with some great rugby and both sets of players will have earned their week off after that bruising encounter.

As a result of their enforced rest last weekend, the Titans slipped to fourth position in the table after Bishops Stortford won comfortably in their re-arranged fixture against Worthing.

Dorking on the other hand lost at home to Southend Saxons making the gap between themselves and the Titans only eight points and with Bishops Stortford playing Henley Hawks this weekend the correct results could see the Titans close the gap even further on the play off place.

The Titans will be looking for continuity for this weekend from their last game.

Even though they lost against Henley the performance was there apart from a poor ten minute period at the beginning of the second half they pushed Henley all the way with the visitors hanging on in the end.

So coaches Yapp & Brown will hope all players will be available for selection.

One player that won’t be is James Newsam who joined the Titans on loan from Dorchester RFC and has now returned to carry on captaining his home club to see out the rest of the season before hopefully re-joining the Titans in the summer, and with the registration deadline now passed for the season the Titans will now finish the season with the squad they currently have.
