FA Cup extra preliminary round
Wellington 1, Hengrove Athletic 3

LUKE Crewe was the thorn in Wellington's side as they crashed out of the FA Cup with a 3-1 extra preliminary round defeat to Hengrove Athletic.

Ian Bellinger gave the Tangerines a fifth-minute lead in a match played at Witheridge FC, only for their Toolstation Western League Premier Division rivals to hit back.

Crewe scored five minutes before half time and then just two minutes after the break, his second coming from the penalty spot.

He then sealed the game for Hengrove with his third, and a second penalty, six minutes before the end of the match.

Wellington's attention now turns to their opening league match of the season, away to Buckland Athletic on Tuesday (August 8, ko 7.30pm).

First Division
Roman Glass St George 1, Bishops Lydeard 3

A SPARKLING first-half display from Bishops Lydeard got their First Division campaign off to a flying start, with an away win at Roman Glass St George.

They led on 18 minutes, as Jake Quick combined with Ben Hebditch to set up Zac Ryder, who scored from 10 yards out.

The hosts were level seven minutes later, but two goals in four minutes gave Lydeard a two-goal cushion before half time.

First, on 36 minutes, Quick profited from a long ball forward to cut inside and finish, and soon after it was 3-1 as Quick found Luke Redrup, who beat three would-be tacklers before guiding the ball home.

There were no more goals in the second half, as the visitors saw out their win.

They are back in action on Wednesday (August 9, ko 7.30pm), at home to Radstock Town.
