CLAIRE Tough and Jill Loader have won the Oake Manor Ladies’ Summer Pairs Knock Out Competition after beating Shane Bordier and Kathryn Loader in a close final.

Joshua Cridlin won the men’s Thursday Midweek Stableford Competition scoring 41 points. Daniel White came second with 38 points, Colin Gudge was third on 35 points and Dennis Lumley fourth, also with 35 points.

Cridlin continued his good form into the weekend, winning the Saturday Stableford.

This time he scored 43 points to win Division 1, with Paul Hadley second with 37 points, Richard Beesley third with 36 points and Simon Mankin fourth, also on 36 points.

Trevor Lant won Division 2 scoring 39 points, Andrew Cleland came second with 38 points, Francis Barnsley third with 36 points and John Greenslade fourth also with 36 points.

On Tuesday, 56 Ladies and Seniors’ paired up to play a mixed Greensomes Competition for the Jubilee Trophy.

Patricia Brown, last year’s Ladies Captain, won it for the second year running but with a new partner in Peter Welsh, the duo scoring 44 points.

Pam Akers and Peter Brighton came second with 43 points, Linda Sully and Mike Shaw were third with 42 points.

Kevin Ward won Division 1 of the Wednesday Midweek Stableford Competition with 36 points; the next three all scored 35 points but on countback Clive Large was second, Jack Malden third and Richard Maslen fourth.

Chris Falltrick won Division 2 with 40 points, the best score of the day.

Neil Mason came second with 37 points, Andrew Ford third with 36 points and David Taylor fourth with 35 points.

TAUNTON and Pickeridge ladies’ section took part in the Grandmother’s Trophy on Friday, at the end of which it was Liz Cutler with 42 points who was the clear winner.

Mary Perrett, with 35, was second while third place went to Carole Rotheram with 33.

The 9-hole competition was won by Jean Kennedy with 18 points.

T&P hosted the Mixed Open on Sunday that attracted 33 teams.

First prize was won by Jane Ledsham, John Wall, Mary-Jo Shepherd and Trevor French (all T&P) with 86 points, with Lyn and Nigel Gridley, Terina and Kevin Parker (all T&P) second with 82.
