DAVE Jewell carded 148 to clinch the gross competition at the Oake Manor Club Championship on Saturday.

Angus Hamilton was a shot back in second, while Mark Sumner was third with 150. Jon Newton and Colin Dyke were fourth and fifth, respectively, after both shot 151.

The combined event was won by teenager Pete Truman with a fine 129. That was six shots clear of the field with Thomas Warren pipping Hamilton to second on countback after they both scored 135. Clive Thorne came in fourth with 136 followed by gross winner Jewell with 138.

JORDAN Mein finished four shots clear of the field to win Division One of the June Monthly Medal at Taunton Vale last Saturday.

He returned with 64, four better than second placed Daniel Keitch, while Pete Scarrett was third on 71.

Jake Hawkins had a storming round of 62 to seal the overall winners spot as well as claiming first place in Division Two. Jim McGuckin was second with 68 and Keith Marlborough one behind with 69 in third.

Mark Mein headed the third division with 64, one ahead of second-placed Nick Laing while Tony Staple was third with 68.

Sunday's Father's Day competition saw two father and sons groups challenging for the top spot after both the Martins and the Keitch families returned to the clubhouse on 78.

However following countback over the back nine holes, it was Bryan Martin and his two sons Josh and Ray who lifted the top spot just edging ahead of Martin Keitch and his boys Daniel and James. Ian Hockey, Mark Kirkpatrick and Terry Brown were third with 74.

NICK Feetenby carded a +5 to win the Goodman Cup bogey competition at Taunton and Pickeridge last Saturday. He pipped Mike Bellamy and Mark Popham on countback.

On Monday, Pickeridge seniors took part in a Stableford comeptition for the Littleworth Trophy.

Seniors vice-captain John Martin pipped Richard Evered and David Powell on countback to take the title after they all returned with 39 points. In fourth place with 37 points was Joe Adams who finished ahead of Bill Ewens on countback.

Meanwhile, the Pickeridge seniors team continue their winning ways to make it five wins from of their last six games.

Jane Ledsham and Trevor Finch scored 39 points to win theHewlett Foursomes competition at Pickeridge. Marlene and Bill Ewens took second place with 38 points, beating Gill Jowett and Joe Adams on countback. Senga Westwater and Richard Jowett took fourth place.

Cathy Crosby and David Potter returned the best score on the front nine (21 points) while Kathy Edwards and Martin Rotheram returned the best on the back nine (19 points).

Ladies captain Angela Hollis and Marion Birchwith clinched victory in the Ladies Cocktail competition with a score of 41 points. Jill Paul and Jean Kennedy took second place with 40 while Mary Guy and Karen Thomas finished third with 37 points - the same as Vicky Davies and Heather Fletcher who were fifth.
