A group of Taunton Town FC fans have now officially set up a supporters trust for the club that will operate independently to ensure fans' voices are heard.
The Taunton Town Supporters Association is an independent, not-for-profit membership organisation run by fans for fans.
A spokesperson from the trust said: "Absolutely delighted to be able to confirm that as of 13:07 on 09 January 2024, Taunton Town (Peacocks) Supporters Association were ratified as affiliated members to the Supporters Association governing body."
The association will work with Taunton Town FC, the national supporter organisation the Football Supporters' Association and Football Supporters Europe.
The spokesperson added: "Our Association will be run on a day-to-day basis by an elected board of fans. Elections are held every year.
"All board members are volunteers, which means they are not paid for their work, and give up their own time. To preserve our independence, board members receive nothing for the work they do.
"We are Peacocks fans first and foremost, but we believe the issues we face are similar to fans everywhere. So we are committed to being part of a growing network of national and international supporter groups."
