Counties 1 Tribute Western West: Wiveliscombe 58-24 Bude

WIVELISCOMBE RFC secured a vital win in the Western Counties West league with a 58pts  24pts win over Bude to move up to ninth position in the league scoring ten tries to secure maximum bonus points victory. 

Playing down the slope in the first half Wivey scored four tries to secure that  winning bonus point.

Tries were scored by Tom Stone, Dan Rottenbury, Will Thorne and Richard Baker who gave a match winning performance for the home team. Flyhalf Dan Quick added two conversions. 

Bude scored two first half tries from captain Fred Saxton  who caught the eye throughout the game with his powerful running. Centre Olly Denford added one conversion for the visitors.

Wiveliscombe were  never at their best in the second half but still crossed their opponents try line another six times to secure a comfortable victory.

The home teams scrums proved to powerful throughout the game and provided enough possession to secure the victory.

Richard Baker, Jake Sharland with two on his first appearance of the season, two from Will Thorne to secure a hattrick and one from hooker Tom Stone completed Wivey's try tally.  Dan Quick slotted two more conversions.
