IT’S as you were at the top of the Taunton and District Sunday League’s Division One as the leading three sides all failed to record victory at the weekend..

Leaders Spartans were held to a goalless draw with fellow highflyers Staplegrove Sports and second-placed Bathpool trailed 3-0 at half-time against Shepherd Wednesday whose scorers were Nick Woon and Simon Old (2).

However they hit back for a 3-3 draw with defender James Coleman netting a hat-trick.

Gardeners had a comfortable 4-0 success over struggling Spaxton while, in the other top flight game, an injury to a North Curry player meant their game away to Westgate was abandoned with the score at 1-1.

In Division Two, second-placed Bagborough failed to put any pressure on runaway leaders Westford as they went down to a suprise 3-2 defeat at struggling Top Guns. Dean Yarde scored twice for Bagborough.

Ruishton maintained their promotion hopes with a 3-1 win over Old Inn. Carl Edwards, Joe Maddox and Steve Vikings got their goals, while Steve Reed replied for Old Inn.

Ash Rangers had an emphatic 9-0 win over Royal Crown – Sam Wilkinson led the way with four goals, Aaron Sellick hit three, Tom Kornacki and Aaron Ellicott netted one each.

Creech Rangers and Black Horse remain level on points at the top of Division Three as both overcame stubborn opposition.

Creech beat Ash Rangers Reserves 2-0 with late goals by Steve and Mike Burley. Black Horse won 3-1 at Churchinford thanks to goals by Gary Mckiernan, James Costigan and Dan Cleal. Matt Francombe replied for Churchinford.

Pegasus beat Rail Madrid 4-2 with Francis Locke’s hat-trick and an own goal doing the damage, while Phoenix Rangers had a good 4-2 win over Watchet Blue Waves. Staplegrove Reserves have pulled out of the league and their record explunged.

In Division Four, FC Grove went six points clear after beating Langport 3-0 and Cotford Saints lost ground after being held to a suprising 3-3 draw by Williton.

Shane Jolly scored five times for Flying Fins who defeated Dunster 10-5 in an amazing game, while Matt Sneddings scored for Milverton in their 1-1 draw against Eagle Tavern.
