Taunton Town beat Taunton Retailers Against Crime (TRAC) 20-0 at Wordsworth Drive on Tuesday evening.
The charity match, played in aid of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the Burnham Area Rescue Boat, was a mismatch from the outset.
Taunton led 12-0 at half time and despite an improved second half display from TRAC the Peacocks continued to fire home, adding eight second half strikes.
The Taunton goalscorers were Ross McNab, who hit five, Alexis Piper and Craig Veal, who scored four, Danny Lane, who had a hat-trick to his name, Corey Lewis, who bagged a brace, Darren Rice and Luke Cole.
Taunton manager Paul West would have been pleased to see his side in such clinical form ahead of the new season, although Taunton won’t come up against opposition like this in the Zamaretto league.
Taunton face a final pre-season examination against Tiverton Town on Saturday at Ladysmead, before returning to league action the following week.
Taunton’s league opener is an away match at North Leigh and is unlikely to yield a similar score to the one seen at Wordsworth Drive on Tuesday.
