BOWLS: Taunton Deane host world class bowlers this weekend
SOME of the world’s top bowlers will be in action at Taunton Deane Bowling Club this Saturday and Sunday.
Deane-based Rob Paxton, an England international and World No2, will face stiff opposition from the likes of World No11 John Price of Wales and England bowlers Danny Dennison, John Evans and Kirsty Hembrow.
The open singles competition, run under the banner of Planetbowls.com, will be offering prize money of £2,350.
A total of 64 players will be action over the two days as they chase a top prize of £1,000.
The tournament is sponsored by Harris Furnishers of Bristol.
There is no entrance fee and a bar and restaurant will be available.
