WITH Rugby World Cup fever gripping the nation, two Wellington players are currently the envy of their friends, family and teammates after winning the chance to spend an afternoon with the New Zealand All Blacks.

Wellington second row Shane Jordan and ex-Wellington scrum-half Will Brewer were granted the dream opportunity after winning a competition run by Adidas.

When Shane bought a new pair of Adidas boots for this season he did not realise he had automatically been entered into a draw, the first prize being to spend a day with the current rugby world champions.

Out of the blue, Shane was told he and a friend would be travelling to London by train, met at King’s Cross Railway Station by a limousine and taken to the Tower Bridge Hotel, where the All Blacks are based and spending the day with them, staying overnight, before travelling home the next day.

They mixed with the players as they relaxed, playing video games and racing against them on Formula One simulators, which had been brought in especially for the team.

Shane said: “It was a great day - we were really well looked after and they were a really nice bunch of guys.”
