TAUNTON racegoers can look forward to another exciting afternoon of action on Monday when the Orchard Portman course hosts a six race card worth £47k in prize money, which gets going at 2.10pm.

With the going good, good to firm and 47 declarations, all the leading trainers have got horses running including Paul Nicholls, Nicky Henderson, Colin Tizzard, David Pipe and Philip Hobbs, while top jockeys, Richard Johnson, Sam Twiston-Davies, Daryl Jacob, and Nick Schofield are all booked to ride.

The first of two Class 3 events on the card is the The C&S Wholesale Electrical Wholesale Lewden Palazzoli Handicap Hurdle race, over two miles and half a furlong with an attractive £10k at 3.10pm, where Nesterenko, the only entry from Henderson’s yard, ridden by Nico de Boinville looks to be the one to watch out for.

The feature race on the card is The C&S Electrical Wholesale BG Electrical Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 3) which has a whopping £13,000 on offer in prizes is due off at 4.10pm.

One of the strong contenders in this race is likely to be Rothman, ridden by Twiston-Davies for Nicholls and returning to action after more then 200 days, while those looking for better value might want to look at My Brother Sylveste, with five pound claimer Michael Heard on board for Pipe.

Punters are reminded that a courtesy coach service departs from Taunton Railway Station two hours before the off, returning 30 minutes after the start of the last.
