LOCAL racegoers have another exciting afternoon of action to look forward to tomorrow (Thursday) when Taunton host a seven-race card today where the first race gets going at 2.10pm, writes Richard Walsh.

With 60 horses declared, all the leading trainers including Paul Nicholls, Nicky Henderson, David Pipe, Gary Moore and Phillip Hobbs have runners while leading jockeys Tom Scudamore, Nick Schofield and Niall Maddern are among those booked to ride.

The big race on the card is the Bathwick Tyres Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) race at 4.30pm where the Nicholls trained Back Corton coming back after a four-month break is likely to attract a lot of interest.

Those seeking better vale might want to check out Space Oddity, ridden by three-pound claimer Kieron Edgar for Harry Fry.

Punters are reminded that a courtesy coach service leaves Taunton Railway Station two hours before the off and returns from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last race.
