Wellington Town 1 - Hengrove Athletic 1
WELLINGTON remain unbeaten at home, despite a strong performance from fellow high-flyers Hengrove at the Playing Field on Saturday.
They took the field missing keeper Connor Sidley-Adams, Tim Legg and Conor Bryant but made a good start.
Wellington were ahead within eight minutes. Luke Redrup’s shot was well saved by the keeper, who pushed it on to the crossbar but Jack Taylor reacted first to stab home the rebound.
There was little to choose between the teams throughout and Hengrove kept their cool to hit back just before the break with a fine volley from Ben Crew.
There was more of the same after the restart but both sides cancelled each other out and were pleased to settle for a point.
- On Saturday, Wellington welcome fifth-placed Malmesbury Victoria (ko 3pm).
