TAUNTON Town manager Leigh Robinson pointed to mistakes as being the key over the two games after his side were on the receiving end of an FA Cup upset against Tavistock.
After the sides had drawn 2-2 in the first match in Devon on Saturday, Tavistock claimed a deserved 2-1 win in Tuesday evening's replay at the Viridor Stadium.
Reflecting on the outcome, Robinson said: “We said to the players before that they had the impetus [after coming from 2-0 down in the first match], so we aimed to go out and wrestle back the initiative.
“But within 30 seconds a mistake gives them a penalty.
“It’s hard to know whether we lost it on Saturday or [Tuesday] night.
“We made too many mistakes – they lose you matches, and we made more than they did over the two games, and they capitalised.”
The Peacocks don’t have too long to dwell on the disappointment, though, as they travel to face Kidlington on Saturday - see somersetcountygazette.co.uk/sport tomorrow for a full match preview.
