More fascist graffiti has been spotted daubed across areas of Taunton, two weeks after first appearing in town.

Several members of the public have contacted the Somerset County Gazette to report the vandalism in and around the town centre.

And one resident says he has been left frustrated, claiming Somerset West and Taunton council told him the graffiti had been cleaned when it was still present.

He said: “I reported the graffiti to the council - flagging it as offensive - on the morning of May 13.

"My submission stated: 'Nazi graffiti along path - mostly down the shorter side of the 'L'. SS symbols and German phrases on walls and streetlights' - fairly clear, I thought.

"In spite of this - and their commitment to removing offensive graffiti within 24 hours - it was all still there for me to take photos on the May 24.

"It is half removed, but half still remaining - including a white SS symbol, which I thought was the most obvious one.

“I have opened yet another case - third time's the charm.”

Fascist graffiti is classed as a criminal offence and police urge people to report it if they come across any.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “Officers are working with partner agencies on this issue and are appealing for offences to be reported, so they can be investigated."

Somerset West and Taunton Council has been approached for comment.
