CLARKS Village has postponed its Pawsome Pooch canine modelling competition until October following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Street shopping centre has expressed its condolences to the Royal Family and made changes to its calendar for the period of national mourning.

The Pawsome Pooch event was due to take place on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 between 11am and 4pm.

It has now been pushed back to Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23.

Chris Davis, centre director at Clarks Village, said: “As the nation mourns the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, some events or activities have been postponed or cancelled.

“The Pawsome Pooch event has been rearranged for later in October and we have contacted any guests who had pre-booked photography appointments to let them know that these will be honoured on the new date.

“On behalf of everyone at Clarks Village, our thoughts are with the Royal Family and all those who mourn Queen Elizabeth II in the UK and worldwide.”

When it goes ahead, the event will search for Clarks Village's “next top dog” and feature a mini agility course, pampering sessions, and a refresh station.

The winning dog would receive shopping vouchers for Clarks Village outlets worth £500 and have their pet featured in future campaigns.
