A NATIONAL gym chain will open at Taunton Retail Park next month, it has been confirmed.

PureGym has announced that its new facility, located between Dreams and The Range, will open on Tuesday, October 25. 

With just over a month until the new gym opens, exterior signage has now been installed and work is ongoing inside the building.

PureGym customers will have 24-hour access to the site when it opens. 

A spokesperson for PureGym said: “We are hugely excited to be bringing affordable, flexible fitness to Taunton and expanding our offering of low-cost, no-contract memberships across the UK.

“PureGym Taunton will be our 322nd UK gym and will officially open on Tuesday, October 25.

“This will be a fantastic facility for the people of Taunton and will offer members fixed pin and free weights, a functional area, group exercise studio classes and access to our personal trainers.

“The gym will also be open 24/7 to provide members access to our state-of-the-art facilities whenever they choose to work out and whatever their fitness ambitions.

PureGym is running an opening offer allowing gym-goers to use the facility from £12.99 a month with no contract.

The unit PureGym is taking over used to house Currys, which has since moved to a neigbouring store in the same retail estate.

Bed retailer Dreams has returned to Taunton at the retail estate after 10 years away, this time with the addition of its luxury brand Feather & Black.

Pizza Hut recently closed its restaurant in the retail park because of the “disruption” it faced after the pandemic.
