FIVE people have been taken to hospital following a collision between Taunton and Bridgwater in the early hours of this morning (Friday, April 14).
One of the people in the vehicle was airlifted to hospital by air ambulance, while the other four were conveyed by road ambulance.
Police were to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the A38 shortly before 12.10 today.
The incident took place between the A361 at Higher Durston and the Shearston turn off for North Petherton.
The road was shut for several hours as work was carried out to recover the vehicle and a police investigation was carried out.
Drivers were advised to seek an alternative route while the road remained closed until shortly before the rush hour.
