REBECCA Pow, the MP for Taunton Deane, has visited the Gaia exhibition at the Minster.

The exhibition started yesterday, Friday April 14. It will run until May 1, 2023.

Rebecca Pow said: "I  enjoyed a spectacular evening at Taunton Minster for the formal opening of Luke Jerram's GAIA (Earth). Thank you to the Revd Tobie Osmond and the Parochial Church Council for inviting me.

"Looking up at Gaia suspended high inside the Taunton Minster gives a feeling of awe for our planet, and a profound understanding of the interconnection of all life and why we must all work together to protect the environment.

"Luke Jerram has created a number of extraordinary art projects which have excited and inspired people around the globe. The Gaia sculpture measures six metres in diameter and uses NASA imagery of the Earth's surface, allows us all to see our planet Earth 'floating' in three dimensions."
