THE Boots store and pharmacy in the centre of Glastonbury will have a new occupant in time for Christmas.

The Comic Store will be moving across the road to take on the High Street premises from December 1.

Boots announced in July that it is shutting its store in the Somerset town on October 13 as part of a "consolidation programme" involving 300 outlet closures.

A Comic Store Facebook post confirmed it would be vacating its Abbey Mews store.

"Massive thanks to my landlords for their support over the last 8 years and especially the last 3.

"Also massive thanks for the incredible support of my friends, family and customers who have helped make The Comic Store a success. 2024 is going to be amazing, thank you to all!"

The Comic Store is described as "the bricks and mortar version of the Glastopopcult eBay comic shop, a specialist in American and British comics".

It also stocks graphic novels, rare and collectable toys including Transformers, action figures and Pokémon cards.
