AN A-road in Somerset was closed from the early hours of the morning until around 1:30pm after a single-vehicle collision took place on Saturday, March 16.
The A39 Station Road in Carhampton was closed between Dunster Steep and the B3190 following a major collision at around 3:30am.
Police, ambulance, and fire services attended the collision, and a woman was sent to hospital with injuries at the time not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
However, a later update from Avon and Somerset Police sadly stated the woman's injuries are now considered 'potentially life changing'.

A spokesperson for the force said: "The A39 Station Road, Carhampton has reopened following an earlier single-vehicle collision.
"A woman remains in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries. Her family are aware.

At the time of the incident, Somerset Council's live road map showed the collision occurred near to the junction with Winsors Lane.
