A once-popular high street pub in Wellington that closed suddenly in 2024 has been sold at an auction for £79,000.
The Pub in Wellington, at 13 High Street, has been vacant since last orders were called in May 2024, seemingly for the final time.

Before it became a boozer, the microbrewery in Wellington was a bakery, which some may remember as Warren's Bakery or Crusty Rolle.
In July 2024, the building's former owner had advertised seeking a tenant to run the pub, or to use the premises as a retail/cafe space, for the lease price of £17,500 per year.
After no one took up the opportunity to rent the public house, it went up for auction last month and sold for the hammer price of £79,500.
The three-storey commercial property is currently part-let, with its first and second floors operating as an office space. The former pub space remains empty on the ground floor.
Speaking before the pub was sold, Auction appraiser James Lofthouse said: “This property is located in a prime position in the centre of the attractive market town of Wellington.
“It has potential for conversion into multiple units, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.”
The Pub's first and second floors are let to the same tenant at £5,000 per annum, and were auctioned jointly with Miller Commercial.
